Galaxy Macau Partners with Trip.com Group for Enhanced Event Pipeline

Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd's flagship casino resort, Galaxy Macau, situated in the bustling Cotai district, has entered into a promising three-year strategic partnership with Trip.com Group Ltd, a significant player in the global online travel agency market. Trip.com Group, known for its origins as Ctrip founded in China in 1999, remains a key brand within the group. Together, these two entities aim to leverage their strengths to transform the global live event landscape.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone, celebrated in a formal event at Galaxy Macau attended by Echo He, vice president at Trip.com Group, and Jeffrey Jiang, executive vice president of entertainment services at Galaxy Entertainment.

Leveraging Membership and Venue Expertise

According to a statement released on Wednesday, this strategic partnership is designed to harness Trip.com Group’s extensive global membership ecosystem alongside Galaxy Macau's proven capabilities in operating venues and executing large-scale events. The intent is to 'supercharge' a global live event pipeline, although specific examples of these events were not elaborated in the announcement. Central to this partnership is the Galaxy Arena, a venue with the capacity to accommodate approximately 16,000 individuals.

The Galaxy Arena recently hosted a significant event featuring the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), highlighting its role in this new endeavor. The partnership aims to deepen integration across event curation and execution, unlocking new layers of value for audiences through cross-platform membership privileges.

Exploring New Horizons for Travel and Entertainment

The collaboration is geared towards creating a seamless and diverse experience for audiences by combining the digital reach of Trip.com Group with the physical destination excellence of Galaxy Macau. This will encompass all aspects from ticket access and travel planning to on-ground entertainment delivery. Such endeavors are expected to expand beyond traditional travel offerings, exploring various co-branded initiatives, immersive event formats, and destination-led campaigns.

Trip.com Group, a corporation listed on both the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and Nasdaq, prides itself on being a comprehensive travel service provider, comprising notable brands such as Trip.com, Ctrip, Skyscanner, and Qunar. Covering 220 countries and regions, it offers vast travel connections with 640 airlines and access to over 560,000 attractions and events.

Galaxy Entertainment’s Mr. Jiang has expressed that sports events particularly present significant opportunities for boosting tourism and enhancing the appeal of Macau’s gaming resorts. This venture is anticipated to bring a wave of innovation and expanded offerings in Macau, further cementing its status as a global entertainment destination.
