With construction projected for completion in 2027, Galaxy Macau’s Phase 4 will immediately follow with a grand opening in 2028, focusing significantly on non-gaming attractions. The new expansion will prominently engage consumers from regions including Japan, South Korea, and member nations of the ASEAN, as per details from the HSBC note reported by Ming Pao.
The extensive development will not only incorporate a casino and offer around 1,350 deluxe rooms and suites but will also feature a stellar 5,000-seat theater, an inviting water resort deck, along with an array of new dining and retail experiences, as mentioned in Galaxy Entertainment’s first-quarter results.
In addition to entertainment advancements, the expansion aligns with Galaxy Entertainment’s strategic focus on luxury retail. During a period of geopolitical unpredictability, the company's upscale retail division—featuring premium fashion, watches, and jewelry—has been thriving, according to HSBC's analysis. The demand for short-haul journeys has significantly uplifted this segment.
Moreover, Galaxy Entertainment previously conveyed to GGRAsia their optimism regarding their retail sector's performance through the reminder of 2026, noting that high-end jewelry remains a particularly robust category. This economic momentum in the luxury retail market has contributed to the increased footfall and enhanced luxury sales performance evident in the first-quarter revenue reports for the mall.
