SJM Resorts Ltd, the Macau casino operating branch of its parent company, SJM Holdings Ltd, has achieved a significant milestone by securing the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certification. This certification serves as a testament to the company's unwavering commitment to enhancing occupational safety and health standards for its employees, guests, and partners. According to a press release issued by SJM Resorts, this initiative reflects their dedication to providing "a safe and secure environment" for everyone involved with the company.
SJM Resorts has been proactive in implementing a variety of initiatives aimed at promoting occupational safety and health. One of the key strategies has been their collaboration with Macau's Labour Affairs Bureau, also known as DSAL, alongside other crucial government agencies and organisations. Through these partnerships, they have successfully disseminated occupational safety and health information to over 60,000 participants.
In a noteworthy event that highlighted SJM's dedication to these efforts, the company co-hosted the 'Occupational Safety and Health You Need to Know 2025' roadshow with DSAL on December 10. Additionally, the 'SJM Occupational Safety and Health Annual Awards Ceremony' was celebrated at the Grand Lisboa Palace complex. This ceremony aimed to show appreciation to the various government departments, partners, supporting organisations, and team members who have been instrumental in promoting safety and health initiatives.
The director of DSAL, Chan Un Tong, acknowledged the significant efforts put forth by SJM Resorts in prioritizing occupational safety and health as a core aspect of their corporate development. In his prepared remarks, he stated, "We acknowledge that SJM has consistently placed occupational safety and health in a prominent position within its corporate development, actively cooperating over the years to help cultivate talent in this field."
Furthermore, Mr. Chan expressed gratitude towards SJM for their substantial contributions towards the advancement of occupational safety and health development in Macau. SJM’s Managing Director, Daisy Ho, echoed this sentiment by emphasizing the importance the company places on the health and well-being of their team members.
She highlighted the honor of receiving the ISO 45001 certification, stating, "We are honoured to receive the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certification, which marks a new milestone in the company’s safety management standards and reflects our commitment to promoting a culture of occupational safety and health.”
