Sands China Achieves Elite ESG Status in S&P Yearbook

Macau's prominent casino operator, Sands China Ltd, once again finds itself distinguished among global companies, being acclaimed by the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook for the fourth consecutive year.

The casino operator's outstanding performance in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices has secured it a place within the top 1 percent of companies according to both the global and China-specific editions of the publication. This is a testament to the high standards it maintains across its operations.

Consistency in ESG Excellence

The S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook serves as a benchmark for evaluating corporate sustainability performance through its Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). With the assessment focusing on ESG metrics, Sands China's consistent high ranking underscores its prioritization of these values.

Moreover, the firm proudly upholds its "Industry Mover" status for the second year in the China edition, a title reserved for organizations that enhance their ESG scores by over 5 percent annually while leading their respective industry. Sands China's score saw an impressive increase of more than 6 percent compared to last year.

Strong Global ESG Commitment

Globally, the S&P evaluation encompasses assessments of over 9,200 companies, out of which 848 were selected for inclusion based on their performance across 59 different industries. Impressively, Sands China was highlighted as one of only 71 global companies to earn a top CSA score, marking its third year of maintaining such an elite standing.

The company states, through Grant Chum Kwan Lock, Sands China's CEO, that this recognition is indicative of their "continued investment and achievements in innovation and long-term planning." He further emphasized, "As the company continues to enhance the guest experience, we have also proactively implemented sustainable operating strategies, striving to reduce environmental impact and generate positive social outcomes."

Such a commitment highlights the harmonious blend of business excellence and sustainability that defines Sands China's operations.
