Lisboeta Macau is gearing up for a significant event, as the hotel plans to extend its business hours in tandem with an eagerly awaited concert at the neighboring Outdoor Performance Venue. Angela Leong, Chairman of the Lisboeta Macau Board of Directors, shared insights into this decision during a recent interview with local media. The anticipation is palpable as the Macau Outdoor Performance Venue, which is located adjacent to Lisboeta Macau, is set to host what is expected to be a sell-out concert on December 28th. With projections suggesting an audience of 15,000 concert-goers, this event marks a pivotal moment as the venue makes its grand debut.
Angela Leong expressed her enthusiasm for the large-scale venue, which boasts a capacity to accommodate a staggering 50,000 people. She conveyed her belief that it will become a major draw for tourists keen on experiencing live performances in Macau. Leong also highlighted the company’s proactive approach to planning next year’s calendar of events. She emphasized, 'The company has been actively planning for next year’s events and is fully committed to supporting the development of cultural and tourism initiatives,' a declaration pointing towards the hotel’s future-focused strategies and dedication to enhancing Macau’s cultural landscape.
It is notable that Lisboeta Macau is a distinctive hotel, managed by Macau Theme Park and Resort, a company founded by her son, Arnaldo Ho. With its official opening in April 2021, the hotel encompasses three creatively themed hotels with a combined total of 820 luxurious rooms. Unlike many venues in Macau, Lisboeta Macau abstains from offering gaming facilities, instead concentrating on hospitality and cultural tourism.
In her interview, Leong also shared insights regarding the hotel's expected performance in the near future. She projected stable hotel occupancy rates throughout the Christmas season, New Year, and extending into the upcoming Chinese New Year. Her optimistic outlook suggests confidence in steady market trends and potential gradual improvements. For Macau, events of this magnitude play a critical role in bolstering the tourism industry post-pandemic.
This strategic alignment with cultural events is not only about immediate gains but also about cementing Lisboeta Macau’s position as a key player in the regional hospitality and tourism sector. The hotel’s ability to draw visitors beyond its immediate guest capacity could pave the way for more expansive tourism initiatives anchored by cultural attractions and landmark events. Leong’s optimism is rooted in a vision that sees future opportunities expanding alongside Macau’s burgeoning reputation as a city that celebrates diverse and engaging cultural offerings.
